Accessibility Statement

Last updated: September 26, 2026

Our Commitment

ReligionCompare wants to be usable by people with disabilities. We work towards the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. This page says plainly what is in place today and what is not yet, so you know what to expect.

What Is in Place

  • A "Skip to content" link at the top of every page for keyboard and screen reader users.
  • Page regions marked up as header, navigation, main content, and footer.
  • Alternative text on images.
  • Links and buttons that can be reached and activated with the keyboard, with a visible focus outline.
  • A layout that works on phones, tablets, and desktops, and at browser zoom levels up to 200%.
  • A light and a dark colour theme.
  • Text in the site's own words rather than images of text.

Known Limitations

We know about the following problems and are working through them. Please tell us if you find others.

  • Heading levels are not always in order: card titles inside page sections are marked as level 3 headings even where a level 2 would be expected.
  • Some grey body text in the light theme falls slightly below the contrast ratio WCAG AA asks for.
  • Changes that happen without a page load, such as search suggestions, quiz scores, and contact form errors, are not announced to screen readers.
  • The quiz answer buttons and the citation panel have limited keyboard support.
  • The side-by-side comparison tables are hard to read on very narrow screens.
  • The site is in English only and has no right-to-left language support.
  • Some externally sourced media may not carry complete accessibility information.
